“Meaning”is an important concept and basic category of Chinese philosophy and literature,originated from thinkers in the preQin period. Relevant discussions had appeared in Zhou Yi and Zhuang ZiIn the period of Han,Wei and Six Dynasties,in the field of literary criticism and creation,the category and concept of meaning began to enter the relevant fieldsIn the great classics of literary theory such as Shi Pin and The Literary Mind and the Carving of Dragons,the concept and category of meaning began to be consciously used to discuss the problems of literary criticism and conceptionAfter the Tang and Song Dynasties,image and artistic conception came into being,but as a metacategory and metaconcept,“meaning”was still widely used and expanded,affecting the construction of poetry in the Ming and Qing Dynasties
