Abstract
As a mode of productivity development, overstepping development of productivity is a contemporary issue as well as a new development mode emerging in an information era of the society. The achieving of overstepping productivity development in China has features of its own, that is, industrialization should be promoted by informatization and the historic task of industrialization be achieved by way of the latest development of informationalization. Overstepping development of productivity is the basic law of the movement of contemporary social productive forces as well as the most fundamental practice activity of the contemporary society. The reasonable core of such activity is nothing but innovation, which decides the role of innovation as the soul of social morphology in the contemporary society. From the point of view of historical materialism, overstepping development of productivity can be regarded as the contemporary morphology of historical materialism, which is a new contribution to Marxism made by the Jiang Ze min led third leader-group.
