On the Literary Vitality Activation from a View of the Ancient Qi-Gan Concept

Abstract

The Qi-Gan concept(Air-Stir concept)is an important doctrine in ancient Chinese literary criticism. It observes the relation between literature and universe from the perspective of the heaven and man as one and their mutual stir, advocates absorbing literary vitality from the affinity and stir or man and nature. The concept originates from ancient Chinese idea with profound cultural implication, thus has a direct influence on literary vitality and creation in ancient Chinese literary criticism, and is of enlightening significance at present.
