As an independent school subject of social sciences, journalism has not only its own theoretical connotation and scientific character, but also its academic accumulation and foundation of development. This thesis will cover the following aspects of journalism: its characters, status, connotations and categories, and will give the point of view on how to build a complete theoretical journalism system in China.
