Abstract
The culture of postmodernism is a special phenomenon, which has a tremendous influence on literary authors.Such questions as what an author is and who the author is should be of a great consideration. After the deconstruction of the traditional author as a rational subject,it is very hard to give a distinct definition to an author of postmodernism. The following images may better describe the new roles of a postmodernist author, namely,a duplicator of artwork in the commercial society,a spiritual garbage collector, the death of author,a mediocre being in popular writing, and participator in language games and culture market.Literature is closely related with its author. The condition of the postmodernist author is a reflection of human existence.
