The concept that“human beings have unlimited material needs” should be critically examined again since it is being severely challenged both in theory and in practice. The author suggests that a concept of limited needs be set up and the quality and quantity of human needs be studied. A rational design of human needs based on this study is the prerequisite of sustainable life style for the modern man.
