On Major Legal Issues in E-commerce and Relevant Legislation Measurements

Abstract

E-commerce as a major means of economic and commercial activity is becoming an incentive for the growth of information economy. Major international organizations and countries have issued policies for e-commerce. With the development of the facilities of internet and electronic finance in China, and with the prospect of gaining membership of WTO, we are facing with the task of dealing with a series of urgent legal issues concerning e-commerce. The author holds that it is advisable that we refer to relevant documents of the UN in making our own law of e-commerce, and actively participate in discussions of international treaties so as to benefit the most from them.
