Abstract

Li Qingzhao was a master of ci in Song Dynasty who represented the unique style of subtle ty and concision. She claimed that ci should be expression of feelings of individuals,so her recurrent themes were sorrow and regret over parting, and grievance of personal mlsfortune as well.Having experienced a series of severe ordeals she accepted Su Shi's powerful and free style after she moved to the South. Thus a unique Yi-an style was created. Yi-an style is a combination of subtlety, sadness and distressed vigor, appar ently a product of the time.
