Abstract

There are two different kinds of logics of political operationOne is called realism, which drives those in power to do the right things in the political senseThe other is called normativism, which requires those in power to do the right things in the moral senseModern political theory united these two with the concept of legitimacyNot only does a legitimate regime need to do the right things in the political sense, but it also needs to do things in a morally right wayProtecting underprivileged groups is the most basic case of things which are both politically right and morally rightHowever, it was gradually described as some kind of “political correctness” which is, in fact, morally incorrect during the complicated games between those in power and those without powerWith the rise of movements against “political correctness”, modern politics is in a serious legitimacy crisisTo rebuild its legitimacy, modern politics must be committed to eliminating inequality in power within the scope of the society
