Abstract

Different from other philosophies in East and West, Confucianism was particularly concerned with “family”,which is also the starting point of its philosophyIn this regard, the author named it “the discovery of the family”The philosophical characteristics embodied in the familyoriented understanding of Confucianism are as follows: on the one hand, actively connect the blood group “family” with the nonblood group “nation” and have it expanded in space; on the other hand, it is not confined to the relations between parents and children, but rather extended to the ancient ancestors from the time aspectFrom the beginning of the original Confucianism to NeoConfucianism, the characteristics are consistentThe expansion of “family” in space created a unique political thought of ConfucianismOn the other hand, the expansion of “family” in time indeed served the function of religion in the Confucian society
