Traditionally，the Changzhou New Text School of Confucianism is either regarded as the distant origin of the political ideology of WuXu Reform of 1898 in the narrative of political history, or is reduced as the remainder of the orthodox New Text School in the narrative of academic history. The unique politicalsocial context and eternal philosophical value of the Changzhou School can not be rediscovered unless we strive to reconstruct its specific historical background and go deep into the intrinsic logic of the text of the School.
