In Part One of the article,the author analyses the one-sided view of the relationship of modern science to Christianity which has long been popular in China.In Part Two,he points out the scientific revolution had much to do with the Christian beliefs:the natural world made by the rational God is orderly,hence comprehensible;the world as creature is not divine hence can be researched and ruled over;Creation is not subject to any necessity,hence facts are always over theories.In Part Three,he explores the relations of the scientific revolution to Protestant ethics,and argues for the union of Christianity and Humanism.
